Tango Calor

About the event

Tango Calor is a collective of musicians with a love for Argentine tango music.

Formed by bandoneonist Mirek Salmon in 2016, the group also features guitar virtuoso Daryl Kellie and sensational vocalist Jimi Can. A member of Moscow Drug Club, Mirek has also performed with BBC orchestras, Welsh National Opera and the Royal Shakespeare Company amongst others. Daryl Kellie has been described by Guitar World Magazine as “epic” and Jimi Can is a consummate showman and key figure from Bristol’s burgeoning Afro-Cuban and Flamenco music scenes. The trio has performed up and down the country in arts centres, tango clubs and world music festivals including WOMAD, and are often called upon to accompany visiting Argentine artists and also collaborate regularly with orchestras. Expect an evening of songs and wonderful stories ranging form classic tango music to beautiful Piazzolla tunes, with lively Latin rhythms.
