Storytelling with Adam Guillain
About the event
Storytelling with Adam Guillain
Local community-led literature festival Play on Words returns this autumn from 21st October to 4th November with events across the New Forest.
Founded by two friends in New Milton in 2018, Play on Words returns for its fourth year with a wide range of events for readers and writers in New Milton and for the first time expanding to Lymington and Totton.
Join us on Thursday 31st October at New Milton Guide HQ for two storytelling workshops with Adam Guillain:
Storytelling – 11:00am-11:40am
Suitable for ages 5-11.
Adam is looking forward to leading you all in a joining-in storytelling performance for all the family. There’ll be a story about a very lucky duck, a man with some very loud animals in his house – and maybe even a Halloween story too!
Tell Your Own Story – 1:30pm-2:30pm
Suitable for ages 5-11.
Are you ready to create your own story? This Tell Your Own Story workshop is for all the family. Your story might be about a character who wants to make the whole world laugh. But who are they? Is your story going to be about a badly-behaved banana, a very playful panda or maybe a giant bumble bee? We’ve no idea yet! The only thing we do know is that your story will make anyone who hears it laugh – a lot!
Location: New Milton Guide HQ, Lake Grove Road, New Milton
Date: Thursday 31st October
Time: 11:00-11:40am and 1:30-2:30pm
Suitable for ages 5-11.
Tickets are free of charge.
Adam is a bestselling, award-winning writer of children’s fiction. A former writer-in-residence at the Roald Dahl Story Centre and co-founder of Storytelling Schools, Adam is now Creative Lead at Dewie – an app featuring CBeebies presenters Ben Cajee and Joanna Adeyinka-Burford – that supports pre-school children alongside their parents, carers, childminders and nursery settings to be socially and developmentally ready to start school.
This event is running as part of the Play on Words Festival, managed by ArtfulScribe and supported by Culture in Common.
