Mobile Arts Space – Coming soon!

About the event

Create180 has been commissioned by our partners at New Forest District Council, to create an innovative, mobile performance structure to bring high‑quality arts and culture to towns and villages across the New Forest.

This project aims to reach New Forest communities that have less access to the arts by bringing performances, festivals, exhibitions and workshops to your doorstep in this unique pop-up arts centre. The mobile arts space will support a variety of art forms including music, theatre, dance, spoken word, exhibitions and multimedia. 

Guided by Mark Drury of Spud, the venue has been co-created with ideas from students at Applemore College, and will be based at the college except when Culture in Common will tour it to community events across the district offering a flexible, inspiring venue for learning and community use all year round!​  

Applemore College’s Head Teacher, Clare Williams said:

“The Mobile Arts Centre will provide Applemore College and the wider community with a flexible, inclusive, and inspiring venue. It would allow creativity to flourish beyond the limitations of our current facilities, encouraging performance, participation, and pride.

We believe this project can make a lasting difference – not just for our students, but for our whole community. Let’s make it happen.“

When designer Mark Drury asked the students at Applemore College what they wanted their Arts Centre to look like, how it might be transported and if it could be adaptable for different uses and performances, their ideas overflowed with invention and creativity.
