New Milton area

New Milton is a town in the South West of New Forest. The area we are working in stretches from New Milton to Pennington and is home to around 43,000 people.

This area is where the New Forest meets the open seas of the English channel, with beautiful beaches such as those at Barton-on-Sea and Milford-on-Sea.

New Milton itself is home to the Forest Arts Centre, one of New Forest’s leading arts venues, which hosts comedy, theatre, music and dance workshops. Also in this area is Coda Music and Arts Trust, a charity which seeks to provide universal access to the arts, music and creativity and hopes to positively impact the lives of local people.

Culture in Common is supporting several clubs in New Milton, including Dancing on Wheels and Dance for MS at Forest Arts Centre, and encouraging local residents to get active and artistic with our Creative Walkshops. Play on Words Literature Festival started in New Milton, and is now growing year on year to with activities across all corners of the Forest.
