Firebird in the Forest and Lantern Events

Last weekend, Culture in Common welcomed Walk The Plank’s magnificent Firebird to the Hythe Mistletoe Fayre and Totton Lantern Event. The 360’ sculpture uses thermal convection to create movement and even grinds and hisses. These sculptures have been crafted by some of the UK’s best metal sculptors to capture the imagination of people of all ages.

Thousands of people came to view the Firebird, and experience the Christmas markets and parades. Prior to the lantern parades, we organised several workshops with local artists in schools across the New Forest. See below for highlights from the workshops, as well as the photos from the events.
