About the event

Who is the best New Comedian in the New Forest? The competition reaches its finale.

60 acts are competing to be crowned the first ever New Forest New Comedian of the Year. Find out who emerges champion at this Grand Final at Hanger Farms Arts Centre.

Organised by Leicester Square Theatre, the acts in tonight’s final are the cream of a crop that has emerged over six local heats and two semi-finals.

The event is compered by Anna Mann a character created by comedian Colin Hoult, with a style characterised by a combination of absurdity, wit, and the ability to make sharp observations about the world around her.

The winner goes through to the semi-final of the national New Comedian of the Year contest at the Museum of Comedy in London in the Autumn of 2023. Previous finalists include Rob Beckett, Rachel Parris, Dane Baptise, Sofie Hagen, Tim Renkow, Nigel Ng (Uncle Roger), Alasdair Beckett-King, Amy Gledhill, Bilal Zafar and Tez Ilyas.
