Just Like That! The Tommy Cooper Show
About the event
Just Like That! The Tommy Cooper Show
To honour the beloved British comedian Tommy Cooper, who passed away over thirty years ago, “Just Like That! The Tommy Cooper Show” is back on tour and ready to entertain.
This spectacular show of magic, music and humour is sure to make all fans of Tommy Cooper’s impeccable timing and slapstick comedy feel delighted again.
The comic’s classic gags, some lesser-known gems from his joke archive, and magical tricks will be included. After a sell-out run at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival and sixteen weeks at London’s Museum of Comedy, this tribute show has been successful since its premiere in 2014.
Vicky, the daughter of Tommy Cooper, commented that it was a great honour to remember her father thirty years later through this production. She further noted that if he were around he would have been pleased knowing that his comedy still brought laughter into people’s lives.
John Hewer (Tony Hancock in Hancock’s Half Hour – The Lost Episodes and Harold Steptoe in Steptoe and Son), who plays the man in the fez, says people will be entertained with music, magic and plenty of Tommy Cooper’s signature style of comedy. He says it’s an honour to bring Tommy’s timeless sense of mischief to both old and new audiences.
Part of the New Forest Comedy Festival 2023. This performance is at Fawley Royal British Legion Club and ticketed by Forest Forge Theatre.
The show is touring the New Forest – it also appears at Forest Arts Centre, New Milton (Thu 15 June) and Forest Forge Theatre, Ringwood (Fri 16 June).
Supported by The Museum of Comedy, The Tommy Cooper Estate and Vicky Cooper.
