Creative Clubs: The No Run Club

About the event

The No Run Club is a weekly walking group for young people in their 20s and 30s, to meet and connect with others around the New Forest.

The No Run Club was set up in 2024 by Sukie and Kate, to create a space to meet and connect with other young people in the New Forest, without having to take up running! The group meet weekly for casual walks across the New Forest, exploring various locations including Bolderwood, Burley and Blackwater Woods.

The No Run Club will be collaborating with various artists to organise six creative walks, alongside the usual weekly walks, between October 2025 and March 2026. The locations will aim to provide access to parking and toilets, with some offering café facilities.

Folklore Walk with Chuckie McEwan

1st November, 11am-1pm, Bolton’s Bench, Beaulieu Road, Lyndhurst SO43 7DA

Come join us at Bolton’s Bench in Lyndhurst to hear about some of the amazing folklore we have around us in the New Forest and bask in the nature we often take for granted. From witches to dragons, we will be highlighting the work of local authors in the preservation and continuation of these tales – immersing ourselves in these stories whilst standing in the landscape that shaped them.

This event is free – just turn up on the day with your best walking shoes on (and maybe a hot beverage on hand if it gets a bit chilly).

Photography Walkshop with Paul Gonella

17th January, 11am, Tall Trees Trail, Blackwater Woods, Brockenhurst

Put on your walking boots, grab a camera of your choice (film, digital, or just your phone!) and come on down to Tall Trees Trail to take part in our photography workshop to document the changing seasons. This workshop will be facilitated by Paul Gonella (@quietcorners) who will be providing you with handy tips and tricks to help take the best photographs. The workshops will meet at Blackwater Woods Car Park at 11am, where the trail begins, and you’ll find everyone next to the @trailside.cafe van.

Sketch and Stroll with Daisy Kate

7th February, 10am, Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve, Ellingham Drove, Ringwood BH24 3PJ

Join us on a fantastic guided walk around Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve with the amazing @daisy_kate, who will be sharing her knowledge of illustration with us! As the cold and bleak winter months roll in, it’s more important now than ever to take a step back and appreciate all we have around us. This workshop is all about slowing down, looking closely, and filling your pockets with lots of lovely drawings. We will explore fun mark-making techniques designed to capture both the minuscule and the monumental. All equipment will be provided, but you are more than welcome to turn up with any of your own art supplies that you’d like to experiment with!

Please note that although the event is free, the nature reserve does ask for a donation for entry.

Culture in Common Creative Clubs
