Between April 2025 and March 2026, Culture in Common delivered a vibrant programme of projects, workshops, performances, and exhibitions, engaging audiences and communities through a wide range of creative activity. Now in our fourth year of funding, this year we saw arts and culture bringing communities together in joyful and creative ways across the New Forest.
Highlights included iconic carnival costume-makers Shademakers collaborating with Ringwood Carnival to lead the procession in stunning costumes and headdresses, a new commission, We’ll Meet Again, marked VE Day with a specially created musical revue, and in Blackfield, the Waterside Food Project got a makeover to create ‘Lucie’s Place’, a creative hub for local residents to participate in creative activities for fun and wellbeing, with an emphasis on recycling.
